Hi Everyone!
Sorry it has been so long since my last post, I was job hunting and a bit distracted. Happily I was able to find a job! Unfortunately I have been too crazy to get to any projects. But I have been in a beading mood and working on getting some beads together for some projects.
I was going through some of my older pictures and came across some of my old bead projects and thought it would be fun to share.
I love beads!!!!
How are your holiday projects going?
Off to decorate for Christmas… have a great week!
Hi Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! If you have never tried beading on a loom, you should totally try it. It is super easy and super addicting, especially when you can create your own patterns. I created the heart bracelet pattern a few years back when I decided to make bracelets for a few friends and family members. It’s the first pattern I ever attempted so I decided to keep it simple. I do really like how they came out.
I used the same pattern but varied the colors, some were black, red, and grey another was black, metallic blue and clear. The variations are endless.
If you are not familiar with Loom Beading here is a great tutorial by Jewelry Supply on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ScjJsOIQP3w
Bead looms are not very expensive unless you want to get fancy. They usually range from about $9.00 and up.
Here is the bracelet:
Making the pattern:
Each dot is a bead, fill in the holes until you’re happy with your pattern, then get beading!
Create your own! Just repeat pattern until its as long as you want. Is even an awesome bookmark.
Here is a blank sheet to play with:
Do you loom bead? How did you first get started?

Hi! I was in such a beading mood last month, right before we moved apartments. So I started this project knowing it was not a good idea to start a project in the middle of packing everything, then moving, then unpacking, but I did it anyway and so this poor little necklace sat unfinished for a while. I would have been done a long time ago but you know how it is.
When I started this necklace and wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but I kept going and I have to admit it is one of my favorites. It goes with everything! I am almost done, I just need to do some finishing touches, but I thought I would share some of the process pictures.

I love these colors!

Was not sure how I felt about it at this length…but kept going.

OK, now I love it!

Almost done!
I love Peyote stitch, It is comfortable to wear and looks amazing. My brother is an amazing artist and he used to make me necklaces like this when I was younger and that has always inspired me to create art.
Has there been someone in your life that inspires you?
If your interested in making this sort of necklace there are some great instructions on fire Mountain Gems website here: http://www.firemountaingems.com/beading_howtos/beading_projects.asp?docid=8235
or you can always email me, I would be happy to help.
Have a wonderful weekend full of fun projects and adventures!
I recently came across some random pieces of jewelry, I had one vintage earring, and a couple lockets. I really like to use jewelry in unexpected ways, so when I came across some ring blanks, I thought, that could be interesting!
Here is the vintage earring into a ring

The Heart Locket Ring
I know, I know I should have painted my nails! But, what a fun project! Now I am looking all over my house for things to stick to rings!
If you want to do this project, all you need is random pieces of jewelry, ring blanks, and a glue gun.
Of course if you would like to help support my little Etsy store (which I appreciate!) you can purchase them here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SugarBeetCrafts
Happy Crafting Everyone, have a super wonderful week!
I have been busy in the jewelry makin’ mood! Here are a few new things I made the last week. I love Beads and Chain together!
Amazing Colors for the Spring and Summer seasons.
Something about the sunshine and warm breeze makes me in the mood to make jewelry. I love to use nature as my inspirations.
The coral necklace was inspired by a large Bougainvillea plant in pink.

The black chain necklaces were inspired by the ocean.

The Butterfly and Leaf Bracelet was inspired by well butterflies and leaves 😀
I hope you enjoy, they are all available at Sugar Beet Crafts on Etsy.
What does summer weather inspire you to do?
I had this round white canvas and this extra pocket. I had no idea how this was going to turn out. I had no plan in mind, but I actually really like how it turned out a whole lot. The beads were the best touch, it looked really unfinished before. The beads also really brighten the whole thing. I love how little touches make a big difference.
Would you like to own it? I am selling it here —> https://www.etsy.com/listing/182339541/beaded-canvas-wall-pocket?ref=shop_home_active_4
