Using the Tim Holtz Distress dabber in white,

I dabbed a flower stamp with the Distress paint then

stamped around the bottom of the card.

Using the same stamp, re-stamp the pattern slightly

off the first white pattern with the black stamp pad.

 Use accent stamps for boarders.

The diamonds were dabbed with white, then outlined with a white gel pen.

To add detail, color in your stamped butterfly with markers,

 then glue in place.

Let Dry.

Have fun!!

Let’s Make Stickers!

Hi Everyone! I hope everyone is wonderful.  I spent this weekend going through some of my office supplies, and I found a bunch of packs of labels. Then it happened…the idea!

I don’t know why it took me so long to do this. I love stickers.. I mean LOVE stickers. I have a wicked collection.

Lately, I have been sealing packages and letters with them but I wanted something more personalized without spending a bunch of money.  Then lightning struck, I can make my own!!

So, if your like me your might have packages of labels around collecting dust. I always have leftovers from yard sales and organizational sprees, or if you burn your own CD’s, you might have those CD Label making programs, they usually leave you with left over sticker parts. I keep everything I might be able to use later on (no, I haven’t reached hoarder status…yet).

I kept the CD label thingy because I thought I could use the round part or the thin CD case labels.

So lets make some stickers…

You want to start with a background.

I used Dylusions Ink spray and sprayed the labels. You could totally use ink pads or markers. Once covered let them dry.

Next, Use a lighter color stamp pad to stamp a pattern onto the background. This part is fun, you can do a million different things.

Next, More stamping..Use letters, pictures, whatever your heart desires. I was making Thank You & Sugar Beet Crafts Stickers.

Here are some more fun ideas…stamps and markers. The background was done by rubbing the labels with a stamp pad, stamping and filling in with markers.

I am already totally addicted. It is a fun way to add some pizzazz to any project. It’s also super sweet to get a personalized handmade anything.

This would be so fun to do with kids, and you have no guilt because you get to use up some extra’s lying around. The environment gives you a big hug for that!

I hope this gets your imagination going!

What will you make?

I would love to see your stickers!

Adventures in Art Journaling – Peacocks Me and U

me and you peacock art journal

I started Art Journaling in Oklahoma last year while we were taking care of my boyfriend’s mom. This was one of my first pages. I used watercolors, stamps, markers, tissue paper and Mod Podge. I thought it would be a fun followup to yesterdays photo!

Cinco De Mayo 2014!

ScreenHunter_19 Apr. 30 12.55

Cinco De Mayo is Monday, May 5th. I am Mexican, German, English, Irish, and Spanish, so I love the plethora of celebrations throughout the year! Famous for backyard bbq’s, vibrant colors, loud music and celebration, Cinco de Mayo”the Fifth of May,” is a Mexican Holiday that actually celebrates the Battle of Puebla. This battle took place on May 5, 1862.

Make/Decorate Cards with Scrap Paper

Making your own cards is such an awesome way to inspire someone, cheer someone up or simply let them know your thinking about them. Everyone loves to receive a card and if your like me you probably have tons of scraps somewhere.

What better way to use them up than to make cards!  I try not to throw anything I can use in a later project away, which means I am always looking for ways to use up old scraps of paper!  I made a bunch of inspirational cards last year, it was really fun, and it was a great way to use odd scraps.

Here are a few ideas to get those creative juices flowin’!

DIY Quick tip with Washi-Tape

I have no idea why this took me so long! Re-use tape dispensers for washi tape. If your careful you can just remove the left over ring from the tape then pop the washi tape on. I knew I had a reason for keeping all those dispensers!

Have a great day!

Rescued Toilet Paper Rolls!

Rescued Toilet Paper Rolls!

As you know, I Love Love LOVE to reuse trash! I know that sounds so weird. I just hate to waste resources. Especially something I can use to craft with. Everything is so expensive these days. I never pass up on a freebie, and I try to make anything myself I can.

So this is how the project came about….I am obsessed with pens, markers, highlighters, and pencils.

It is a serious ailment I’ll tell you ( my boyfriend would tell you too 😀 ) so anyway, I love pen displays in stationery stores. You know the ones I am talking about, You turn the corner and there brightly lit and perfectly organized rows of bright colors. Markers, Pens, Pencils, felt tip, ballpoint, extra fine point, on and on and on. Too many possibilities! It was the part of the craft and stationery stores that gave me goosebumps. Luckily I have a cool mom (that also has this pen illness) and I often came home with a new color pen. Hmmm, Perhaps she was a pen-enabler… a  Penabler!

Back to the project! So as someone who is very visual I hated my pen drawer, it sort of looks like my makeup drawer. It was so sad, just a jumble of lonely pens, all points, types and styles mixed together. Not very conducive for a creative atmosphere…well for my head anyway. So I went from a big ole mess of pens everywhere…

To This!

Now I just want to play with all of them!

I just started to gather paper towel rolls (they can be cut to size)  and tp rolls.

Just pack them all together. If they are not staying where you want them too just use either a hot glue gun or you can use regular glue or Mod Podge, secure the rolls together with paper clips to keep them close while the glue dries.

If you want to get really fancy, decorate them with paint or washi tape or scrapbook paper.

I also have an obsession with anything vintage. My grandma just gave me her old make up case, and I could

not stand the thought of it sitting in a closet. I liked it so much I did the same thing with my mess of paint brushes.

I found this vintage case cheap in a Goodwill.

So many options, so little time!

I hope you have a wonderful Day! How do you organize your supplies? I would love to know!
