Large Butterfly Necklace by SugarBeetCrafts on Etsy
A New Finished Project!
I had this round white canvas and this extra pocket. I had no idea how this was going to turn out. I had no plan in mind, but I actually really like how it turned out a whole lot. The beads were the best touch, it looked really unfinished before. The beads also really brighten the whole thing. I love how little touches make a big difference.
Would you like to own it? I am selling it here —> https://www.etsy.com/listing/182339541/beaded-canvas-wall-pocket?ref=shop_home_active_4
From Index card to Stencil
From Index card to Stencil! I try my hardest to make my craft supplies out of things I already have around the house. I would love to go to a craft store and buy things off the shelf but I rarely have the extra cash, and there is nothing like making your own supplies. I have been really into Journal Art lately and was in need of some fun stencils. I also had a huge stack of index cards someone gave me. I use the really big ones, but of course any size will work.
Let’s get started!
Gather your materials:
- Index Cards
- Mod Podge (optional)
- exact o knife or sharp scissors
- Image
When I started using index cards for stencils I did not Mod Podge them, I just cut out the pattern. I decided to try the Mod Podge to see if it would make a difference. Here we go, lets make a stencil.
Brush the index card with Modge Podge and let dry. (This step is not necessary, but it’s quick will make your stencil bead up extra ink rather than absorbing it)
Once completely dry, trace an image with carbon paper or draw the image directly onto the card.
Using either a very sharp fine pointed scissor or a exact o knife, carefully cut out your image. If you are really careful, you should have a positive and negative to use.
Ready to use.
I have been using this method for a while now, I mostly use my stencils with ink sprays, acrylics, gesso, markers, and paint daubers. After each use I let dry before I put away ( I keep them in a plastic sleeve). So far they have all held up. What do you think? I would love to hear from you.
Ok crafters, lets get Journaling!!

Well Owl Be! Make Your Own Wall Decorations
Making your own wall art is fun and easy!
Materials Needed:
- material
- canvas
- paint brushes
- turpentine (if using Oil)
- Mod Podge
- Gather your materials.
- Make sure your canvas is clean, if you notice any dust or dirt give it a wipe.
- Start with the oil paint. The owl canvas is painted simple black, but you could depending on your fabric create awesome backgrounds. I love the richness of oil paint, but it is serious stuff. It is slow drying so you can add colors and mix colors. It does however, take a while to dry. So if you are using oil this process is going to take days rather than hours.
- While drying find your fabric and cut out some designs. Trim any fly away treads. I cut out an owl
- Brush the Mod Podge over the fabric cut outs and apply to the canvas. Once placed on the canvas brush the Mod Podge over the top of the fabric.
- Let dry.
- Once dry, spray with sealer.
- Let dry.
- Once that is done, I added the small rhinestones with more Mod Podge.
This is fun, really inexpensive project to quickly update the look of any room. You could do this project alone, with your kids, or friends!

Dylusions Spray Inks by Dyan Reaveley and Ranger
For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive the full set of 18 Dylusions Ink Sprays, and I have to say I love them!!! Not a day has gone by that I am not covered in colors and happy as a clam about it. These inks have so many possibilities and are so much fun. Thank goodness they are super easy to get off with water if you accidentally *ahem, spray your floor counter and toaster oven, Tee Hee. My boyfriend is very tolerant.
If you have been curious or have never heard of these sprays you should absolutely check them out.
Here is the very first thing I made….
Bad picture but in real life it looks 3D.
Many more pics to come of my adventures in inks.
OH and on a side note, I don’t usually plug companies unless they really deserve it. I have to say Ranger has the best customer service. They are super nice and have a quick response time.
Who else loves Dylusions? What projects have you created?
Have a wonderful Weekend!

The Original Rubber Stamp Convention 2013
Hello Everyone!
First, Let me apologize for the disappearing act! I am now a working girl… again, and it has taken up much of my time.
November 9th and 10th 2013 were the dates of this years The Original Rubber Stamp Convention, held in Carson California.
I have been to state fairs and craft fairs but never a stamp convention!! Thank goodness my boyfriend went with me to keep me from spending every dime I have. It was awesome! There were wonderful booths and exhibits and classes going on everywhere. It am constantly amazed at the creativity people have. There were some great ideas.
I did purchase a few things..
Anyone that knows me or my other blog (An Indie Advisory) you know that I love mushrooms. I found this mushroom stamp and some other fun stamps

Tim Holtz >>> http://timholtz.com/
I am totally in LOVE with the Tim Holtz brand and all the people he works with including Stamper’s Anonymous.
Stamper’s Anonymous had a booth, I have been drooling over their products for years. Mario Rossi was even at the booth. I kept telling myself that if I saw him I would say Hello, because I am a huge fan and follow his blogs and such. Here is hs twitter link : https://twitter.com/mariojrossi. Well, I saw him and got all fan stupid and ran away. I get a bit shy. So now I am kicking myself. I do that stuff all the time. I get around people I totally admire, get the “I am not worthy complex” and run away, ha I am a nerd!
Anyway, I am kind of well poor, so I do not often purchase craft supplies, I usually have to make my own. I finally broke down and bought some of the dylusions ink spray. This stuff is AWESOME!!!! It is so much fun, and the colors are beautiful and vibrant, I wish I could have bought every single color (which I might have done if my boyfriend was not there LOL). If you have never seen this stuff, I would highly recommend it.
Stamper’s Anonymous info:
I absolutely had a blast, and cannot wait until I have a real chance to play with all my new loot.
Here is some information on the vendors that were at the convention and some info for some upcoming conventions.
There are stamp conventions and stuff all over the country so if you are not in California I would suggest looking online for stamp conventions near you, it is so much fun.
See you soon!
